I am sometimes fun…and sometimes serious. Sometimes quirky, sometimes classic, my art will tell you that. My art choices are very broad…and therefore, so are my followers! How lucky am I? What art style is your favourite? I’m always so interested to know. Traditional? Whimsy? Imaginative?

I’m simplifying my print shop…slowly uploading paper prints in three sizes on Instagram, Facebook and my website. Limited edition small, medium and large archival paper fine art prints, ready to fly to your letterbox, starting at $100 AUD. Australian Afternoon is listed, along with a few of my best sellers and I’m working my way through my huge selection of prints. Summer fruits are finally back in our supermarkets

Summer fruits are finally back in our supermarkets, tantalizing me with their glorious colours. I so love to paint before devouring, but you’ve got to be quick to paint first! Pawpaw (papaya) is my favorite, followed closely by mango. My kids hate pawpaw…don’t ask me why. I just don’t get it. Anyway, these two are @thetoowoombagallery awaiting their forever home, of kitchen and able to bring summer fruits all year round. 🌞 Original photo for these two via the lovely Chloe @the_smallseed_ 🥭🥝🍉🍍

It’s done! I’m not sure whether to call this Shallow conversations or Deep discussions or both? I must say, I’ve had a lot of fun imagining what these people are all talking about. Family, fun, friends…gossip, stories, plans for dinner? The original photo was taken in Spain, so maybe they are talking about food or their afternoon siesta! When a friend posted his holiday snap on Instagram, I just knew it would make a great painting. Those tiny faces were out of focus, so I left them barely recognisable, with just dots of paint that read as a face from afar. Thank you Andy and Sally for the use of your photo. 💙76x100cm oil on canvas.

Isn’t nature incredible? Here’s a reel of Spring just doing her thing this last few weeks, and all these birds in my neighbourhood filling me with so much inspiration. Thanks also for the flower perfection @flowersbyjanie.wa . You can see my painting at @melvillecityartsandevents Art exhibition opening next week 28th October. It’s going to be another fabulous show!

A friend took an amazing photo in Europe this summ

A friend took an amazing photo in Europe this summer and has given me permission to paint it. I started blocking in today using acrylic gouache which works beautifully under oils. I tend to sit at a table for gouache. Don’t ask me why, a weird habit given the size of the canvas! It’s a 76x100cm canvas so a great size. Can’t wait to do more this weekend.

It’s been a year of peaks and troughs and right

It’s been a year of peaks and troughs and right now, I feel I’m in a trough and with the slide into the silly season, I’m not getting much done! After a long innings in this crazy art business, I do know to just swing with these times. I’ve got a canvas in my studio that’s been on and off the easel for months. It’s driving me crazy seeing it unfinished, but life and logistics keeps getting in the way. Some art takes longer than others and that’s okie. Take it easy on yourself.

These artworks work beautifully hung or on a shelf for a perfect #shelfie . I make sure my artworks are packed with care, no matter the size, whether it’s a tiny 10x15cm or a 100x100cm and a Certificate of Authenticity accompanies all my fine-art originals and prints. My wonderful collectors spend good money on my pieces, so I make sure they arrive showing I care about both the art and the collectors.

@insituartroom app is the best. If you are interested in the size of an artwork in a room, this app is the way to go. I’ve been using it for a couple of years now, I’m not sponsored, I just like it. This is how I always display works on @bluethumbart giving the art collector visual help on size and the look in a room. 💙

Strawberry Fields forever…or at least markets of

Strawberry Fields forever…or at least markets offering the sweetest on offer. 🍓🍓🍓 After eating strawberries in the UK and Europe, I’ve often struggled to get the same flavour in Australia and have only found close enough at farmers markets. Forget the supermarkets, their strawberries are often only good to paint, so if you want to eat your props too, shop small and local, that’s my art tip of the day! @outsidethesquare_canvas for the round stretcher and frame. Nicely done! I’ve got a bit of fiddling to do but it’s pretty much finished.

Haha! I just couldn’t help myself with the music choice, though it should be jazz for this post. How lovely is this little bit of licensing I did with @dingojazz this month. My ‘Not So Devilish’ covering the article for Jazz in Tasmania. Thank you to @dingojazz for choosing my artwork for your stunning magazine. October Little things is ‘Old school’ …so much better than new school don’t you think? Forget those iPads, MacBooks and digital things, lead pencils are always my first love! I’ve got just 5 available (red dot indicates sold) They are currently getting their lovely frames on, so use your imagination to picture these dressed in their uniform of Tasmanian Oak, such as the second one shows. They can be hung or work well as a Shelfie. If you want one, pm me and I’ll email through a clearer photo. 10x15cm oil on board. They are $220 framed and Australian delivery included. International delivery to be quoted. Please note that Im taking a little break from my little things to keep on top of Christmas commitments, so these are the last few for now. ✏️✏️✏️ (Btw…the framed one shown is smaller than the rest and was a trial size, which is too small for my framer to do safely, so this is a one off and is $200.
