Some paintings take a while to find their owners. This painting has been with me a while now and twice has been bought mistakenly as they thought they were buying a REAL live dog…seriously. The first realised their mistake within hours and the second time, it made it all the way to their home and they didn’t even unwrap the box! 🤷🏻‍♀️ Bizarre. Hopefully this time this lovely oil painting pooch will stay with its new owners. 💙💙💙 Thank you @bluethumbart

Do you know I do prints on carefully selected paintings? ⁣

Prints are not my focus, but I do know that many cant afford to buy a bigger original. My prints are quietly playing along on the sidelines, making my art available for more followers and allowing me to dream of future books and licensing with beautiful and perfect professional photos.⁣
⁣
It takes me weeks and sometimes months to create some of my original artworks and once that one and only original is sold, it’s often a sad goodbye. I’ve regretted not getting professional photos on so many of my past works, not necessarily to make prints, but for the possibilities of a future art book showing my art journey. ⁣
⁣
For collectors of my originals, fear not, my prints are in limited numbers and believe me, I’m not taking over the world with my sales! Haha! ⁣
My originals are important to me and I would not do anything to harm their collectibility. ⁣
⁣
Anyway, I thought I would list a print here every few posts. Any size you want, paper or canvas. Signed and numbered. ⁣

🔴 I am absolutely thrilled this is going to a long time follower and will be a much loved piece. I so enjoy hearing the story behind choosing an artwork and ‘Fresh As A Daisy’ has certainly found its perfect home. Each item in this composition has meaning to me and found meaning to my collector. Moral of the story? Get in touch if you like a piece…paintings find their home for a reason.

If I came back into another life and house, I think I would embrace maximalist decor, full of colour and collected treasures…I’d need a full time house keeper to keep all my treasures in order though, and one room I could escape to every now and then that was cream and light and very, very minimalist! I’ve got a tendency to mess when I’m at my most creative, so I have to work hard at keeping tidy. But this room is so pow! Colour pop yum. We are currently in Makuru in Australia - one of the Noongar 6 seasons. I find the Noongar seasons so much better than our traditional seasons, winter in this case. Makuru brings the first heavy rains and yes, we’ve had nothing but rain for the last week and it’s our first patch of heavy rain for a very long time. Love love love this time of the year with our lakes and rivers refilling and the water birds happy again. This is #6 of my Little things collection and available. PM for details. Take note…it’s true. I spend time deciding on my ‘art note quotes’ making sure they ring true for every aspect of my own art journey. It’s been 15 years now as a professional artist and my goodness, I’ve pushed myself into many a scary moment to make sure I keep learning, developing and growing my art. It’s not easy. There have been times when I’ve questioned my ‘why?’ and thousands when I’ve been crippled by doubt…but I’ve learnt over the years to just roll with these peaks and troughs. To keep on keeping on. Whenever we go on a road trip…or any trip for that matter, even to Bunnings on a Sunday, hubby likes to take the long way home.⁣ 😆

It’s his thing and many an eyeball has been rolled over the years, but if he didn’t take the long way home, we’d all get very worried indeed. ⁣🙄

Effort and art go hand in hand…work hard to learn, grow, experiment, market, email, exhibit, paint, draw, paint some more…then start all over again. Being a professional, full time artist is not for the faint hearted. I had this discussion recently with a good friend (and awesome artist) and it’s all about what effort you put in, what is your priority and passion. Passion and effort trumps talent any day.
